Ken Parks

Ken started his writing journey as a stringer for an Arts newsletter and only recently turned to long form fiction. He favors speculative fiction in metaphysical and historical contexts, whether based on known fact, exploring what could have been true and what might be true someday, or leaving the factual world behind. His focus is the lived experience of characters caught in unusual circumstance. Informed by his experience in theatre and design, he creates worlds not unlike our own, and asks “What if?” His ultimate goal is for us to question what we know, and how we know it.

His goal is to tell stories that promote a better understanding of the world and our place in it, by looking at something entirely different than our common experience. If that encourages peace, justice, and compassion along the way, all the better.

 He lives in the foothills of the Blue Ridge with Lisa, and their adopted Terrier, Kiki D.
